Web Design for Contractors That Brings In Calls and Quotes

We design and build websites for contractors and home service businesses in Carlisle and across central Pennsylvania. The goal is simple: more phone calls and estimate requests from people who are ready to hire.

Our process begins with a conversation about your jobs, your customers and your numbers. We write the copy, build the site, set up call and form tracking, and make sure it works well on a phone.

What a contractor website has to do

A homeowner with a leaking roof or a dead air conditioner does not browse. They search, open two or three results on their phone, and call the one that looks real and answers. Your website has about ten seconds to look like that business.

  • Show your phone number and make it tap-to-call on every page, at the top.
  • Make the estimate form short. Name, phone, address or town, and the type of job.
  • Have a page for each service. A roofer needs separate pages for repairs, replacement and storm damage, not one page that says “roofing.”
  • Name the towns you serve. People search by place, and Google needs to see where you work.
  • Show real photos of real jobs. Before and after photos beat any stock image.
  • Show proof. Reviews, license and insurance details where your trade expects them, and years in business if true.
  • Load fast on a phone. Most of your visitors will be on one, often on a weak signal.
  • Track calls and form sends, so you know which marketing pays.

What we found on Central PA contractor sites

In October 2026 we checked the homepages of 1,069 small business websites across Central Pennsylvania. Here is how the home service trades in that check looked. The figures show the share of sites missing each item.

TradeSites checkedNo tap-to-callNo homepage formNo tracking found
Roofers886%44%22%
Plumbers7916%35%34%
Landscapers7332%62%44%
HVAC7215%56%40%
Electricians7121%45%46%

Landscapers were the most likely to lack a tap-to-call number (32%), and electricians were the most likely to have no tracking (46%). This is a homepage-only snapshot, not a ranking of any business. See the full method in our Central PA small business website report, or run the same checks on your own site with the free 60-second website teardown.

What we build for contractors

  • Service pages for each job you want more of, written in the words customers use.
  • Area pages for the towns you work in, each with something real to say about the work you do there.
  • An estimate request form that is short, works on a phone and sends leads where someone will see them the same day.
  • A gallery of your work with the job type and town in each caption.
  • A reviews section that pulls in real customer feedback.
  • Landing pages for ads and seasonal offers. See our landing page design service.
  • Call and form tracking set up from day one.

What is included in every project

  • Discovery. We learn how you win work, who your best customers are and what you can handle. We scope the project after our first conversation.
  • Copywriting. We write your pages. You do not have to find a writer.
  • Real images, not stock. We use your photos and AI-generated assets that fit your brand. We do not use generic stock photos.
  • A fast, mobile-first build. Tested on real phones.
  • Tracking. Phone taps and form sends, so you can see leads and not only visits.

We use AI to speed up production, and an expert directs it. That is how the site ends up sounding like your business and not like everyone else.

Trades we write for

We have written practical guides for several trades. Read the one closest to yours:

Plumbers, electricians, remodelers and other contractors follow the same basic rules. See our full guide to digital marketing for home service businesses, or the guide to building a website for a home service business.

Mistakes we see on contractor websites

  • A phone number that is only an image or plain text, so it cannot be tapped.
  • One page for all services, which makes it hard to be found for any of them.
  • A long contact form that asks for more than a first call needs.
  • No photos of real work, or photos that look like stock.
  • No mention of the towns served.
  • Reviews that live on Google but never appear on the site.
  • No tracking, so the owner cannot tell if the site or the ads are working.
  • A site that looks fine on a desktop and breaks on a phone.

How we work

  1. Strategy call. We talk about your jobs, your customers and your numbers. You decide whether we are a fit.
  2. Discovery. We review your current site, your competitors and the searches your customers use.
  3. Copy and design. We write and design the pages around the way your customers decide. You approve before we build.
  4. Build and tracking. We build it, test it on phones and set up tracking.
  5. Launch and improve. We launch, watch the numbers and fix what is not working.

What to have ready

  • Your main services and the towns you serve.
  • Photos of finished jobs, your team and your trucks.
  • Reviews, licenses and insurance details.
  • What a typical job is worth to you, roughly.
  • Logins for your current site, domain and Google Business Profile, if you have them.

If you are missing some of this, that is fine. Part of discovery is working out what you have and what to create.

Questions contractors ask

How much does a contractor website cost? It depends on the number of services and areas, how much writing and photography is needed, and what has to be tracked. We scope it after a conversation, so you know the cost before work starts.

Do you build sites for trades outside Carlisle? Yes. We work across central Pennsylvania, including Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, York, Lancaster and Chambersburg. See our Carlisle web design page.

Will the site get me to the top of Google? No one can promise that. We build the site and pages the way Google and customers reward, and we track what happens. Local search takes months, and ads can fill the gap while it builds. See our guide to PPC for local businesses.

Can you work with my existing website? Sometimes a few fixes are enough. We will say so if that is the case. See our redesign guide for how we decide.

Can I edit the site myself? Yes for basic text and photos. We show you how, and we can handle changes for you.
